What
the F is a podcast? I'm still not sure exactly what it is, but
I think it is the equivalent of an AM station for an Ipod.
Podcasters record shows with topics including movies, sports, politics, etc.
People download these shows in the form of MP3 and listen to them on their
computer or iPod. Certain websites have a directory of all the
different shows and a program called iPodder allows you to subscribe to the
different shows by automatically downloading new shows daily or weekly.
If this is too much trouble you can always just go to the individual
websites and download the shows directly. For a better explanation,
check out the
Podcast
Guide which directs you to other podcast websites. My site will have a variety of Podcasts including
a sports talk show featuring my two friends known as the Catfish and the
Lobo. Other shows are still in the development
stages, but will be broadcast in the near future.
Following the pilot episode of the Fish Tank there has been a
wide variety of thoughts concerning the show and its future. Although
the online poll shows an overwhelming preference in favor of the Fish Tank,
there have been anonymous calls with accusations of ballot stuffing, voter
suppression, and voter registration from those who are deceased. In
light of these allegations, the executives at Xtrera.com have decided to
allow the Fish Tank to remain on air with probationary status. The
Fish Tank must maintain at least a 51% approval rating to remain active.
Also over the next few shows, the Fish Tank will hold tryouts to determine a
permanent co-host. If you are interested in entering the contest,
please submit a 200 word essay to Quiz Boy. The essay should discuss
the characteristics that would make you a good co-host and why Bass would
make a good President of the United States.
Over the last 4 days of March Madness, everyone lucky
enough to be unemployed and without responsibility has been glued to their
TV sets between approximately 12 noon to 11:30pm watching CBS and the NCAA
tournament. There has been enough drama to quench the thirst of any
thespian, with Davidian upsets such as Vermont over Syracuse, and
double-overtime thrillers such as the West Virginia-Wake Forrest bracket
buster. But the real drama was to be found after the 2nd round games were
completed and Spring Break Shark Attack invaded our television
sets, as CBS refused to grant us even a couple
of evening hours without heart-pounding programming. Before we at
Xtrera.com get into the review of this made-for-tv movie, we would first
like to commend CBS and its marketing team on a tremendous promotional
campaign that anyone can appreciate. When Ian Eagle, who was thrilled to
be commentating something other than the Pilot Penn Tennis Open, first
read the promo for Shark Attack as CBS played the footage of 50
killer sharks preying on drunk Spring Breakers, we were mildly amused.
But each subsequent time Verne Lundquist would cringe as he said something
along the lines of, "Spring Break Shark Attack, it's gonna bite
you!", or when Bill Raftery would feign excitement at the thought of
sitting safely on his couch watching the shark attack, we got
progressively more hooked. Eventually, it got to the point where we were
sitting in the Xtrera.com studio just wishing that the Duke-Mississippi
State game would end already so that we could get to the most highly
anticipated made-for-tv movie in years. So before we go any further, hats
off from Xtrera.com to the CBS marketing team and to Verne Lundquist and
his play-by-play contemporaries for doing such a marvelous job selling a
movie that was a difficult sell to say the least. Following a Georgia
Tech romp at the hands of Louisville in the Nashville arena, the
Xtrera.com staff regrouped, recapped the games, and got settled in for a
night of drama and suspense. When 8:00pm central time rolled around, the
anticipation was unbearable. Among other things, we couldn't wait to see
what ecological crisis could possibly explain 50 man-eating sharks to
converge onto a crowded beach. To our horror, Spring Break Shark
Attack was nowhere to be found. Cold Case was on in it's place.Bedlam ensued! Verne had lied to us! We composed ourselves and
thought logically. Apparently the games had run a little late and all the
programs had been pushed back. Finally around 8:30pm, our movie was
on.......
The cast of the Penalty Box was recently interviewed by the
Hartford Courant newspaper and the article appeared in this past Sunday's
edition of the publication. Please check out the link below.
The Penalty Box contract lockout dispute has come to an end
just in time for the NCAA tournament. The Catfish and Quiz Boy were
flown down on the Xtrera.com jet to host the show onsite in Nashville at the
Gaylord Entertainment Center to cover first hand the most exciting
sub-regional of the tourney. Unfortunately the Lobo was unable to make
the field trip, but he was still able to sign onto the show through
teleconference via Grand Blanc, MI. Joining the show in Nashville to
provide expert analysis was Jonas "El Padrino" Rodriguez. Mr. Rodriguez,
also known in the greater Nashville area as Coach Rod, has over 20 years
of NCAA tournament experience and currently is the director of a college
athletics think tank based in Nashville called the Franklin Road Academy.
The trio has teamed up on this special edition to break down the NCAA
tournament and provide the Penalty Box fans with the information to make the
necessary last minute adjustments to their brackets before tipoff. The
Penalty Box team will provide ongoing analysis as the tournament progresses
so please check the site over the next few days for these updates.

After a three week hiatus, the Penalty Box
returns with an hour long triple overtime, sudden death, shootout, comeback
episode. During the show's time off air, a bitter contract disputes
threatened to end the Penalty Box forever, but luckily an 11th hour
collective bargaining agreement was reached as result of the flood of emails and
calls from fans demanding more Catfish and Lobo. The show will
broadcast soon so stay tuned for the best Penalty Box episode yet.
The Fish Tank
Pilot Episode
The premiere episode of the Fish Tank is a variety show
hosted by Stephen "Bass" Basserman and his sidekick Chris "Snapper" Wright.
The pilot addressed a number of pressing issues including Art, Nasa, the
Academy Awards, and Bass's recent surgery, but the show did not go as
smoothly as you might have expected with a host with such class and
professionalism. In order to maintain the integrity of this website,
the Fish Tank will run on a show to show basis pending the response of our
listening audience. Please download the pilot episode below and then
vote in the online poll on whether the show should remain on air or should
be canned.
